dubbl helps you track sales tax obligations for US state and local jurisdictions. Navigate to Tax > Sales Tax to view your sales tax summary.

Disclaimer: Sales tax rules vary widely across US states and localities, and change frequently. Always verify rates and nexus requirements with a qualified tax professional. If you notice outdated information, please open an issue.

Setup

  1. Create tax rates for each jurisdiction where you have nexus (tax obligation)
  2. Set the rate percentage and assign a name (e.g., "California Sales Tax - 7.25%")
  3. Apply the appropriate tax rate when creating invoices

Nexus

You may have sales tax obligations in a state if you have:

  • Physical presence (office, warehouse, employees)
  • Economic nexus (exceeding revenue or transaction thresholds)

Each state sets its own thresholds. Check your state's Department of Revenue for current rules.
